The Process

I want to help people feel more comfortable with who they are.

Step 1: Gather your history

Let’s work together to figure out how you have become who you are today. What biological, psychological, and social factors have contributed to who you are, how you think, how you see the world, and where you want to go?

Step 2: Making Connections

Let’s sort it all out. Think of a big table with photos of your life events. Together we will make piles – the good, the bad, the ugly. We will talk through the positive people and events in your life and we will do the same with the negative.

Step 3: Make Change

This part is kind of like cooking. You have something simmering on the stove, and you taste it, it’s a little bland, let’s add a little salt, maybe a little red pepper flakes for a kick. Here we look at your life, and see what needs to be added or subtracted in order to increase your happiness, satisfaction, and self-esteem.

Sometimes it means spending more time in nature, less time listening to that friend who drains you, walking home from work vs. the dreaded subway. We will find the right recipe for you.

Step 4: Maintenance

It’s difficult to make behavioral change. Here’s where we check in about the plan we have created. Yes, it’s challenging to distance yourself from your toxic friend, or tell mom, no, I will not be coming to the family party this weekend.

The situations and relationships in our lives are complex. They took (insert how old you are) many years to get that way, they will take some time to change. Patience, dedication, and determination are key here. The good news is that slow change is lasting change.
